Kaminario’s K2 has brought enterprise-class reliability to solid-state storage by designing a high performing, scalable and highly redundant architecture optimized for solid-state drive (SSD) SAN technology. What makes Kaminario unique is it provides data access speed and reliability, while reducing complexity, because the system is a self-contained, high performance, high availability all solid-state SAN storage system which fits seamlessly into any environment.
Up until now, the Kaminario K2 has been a DRAM-only solution. While it was offered at very appealing price points compared to other DRAM systems, the potential customer base was still limited. As a result, Kaminario’s initial wave of customers typically had large business intelligence applications or OLTP applications that were being hampered by storage performance issues (primarily caused by high storage I/O and latency). In these environments, performance increases could be tied directly to additional revenue creation or customer service, helping to justify the premium price of a DRAM-only system.
